Paramount+ has announced that five new cast members will join the live-action Knuckles series. Variety was first to report.

Cary Elwes, Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel are all now part of the upcoming show, with specific details about their roles being kept under wraps. The TV show for Paramount+ will be set between the second and upcoming third films.

Idris Elba, who previously voiced Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, will reprise his role in the series. The ensemble cast also includes returning actors Adam Pally as Wade Whipple, Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, and Ellie Taylor. Notable guest stars include Rory McCann and Tika Sumpter, with Sumpter reprising her character Maddie.

The Knuckles series is scheduled to release on December 20, 2024. The series follows Knuckles as he agrees to mentor Wade, teaching him the ways of the Echidna warrior, according to the official description.

John Whittington, known for his work on the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 screenplay, has written the pilot episode and serves as the head writer and executive producer of the series. Jeff Fowler, director of both Sonic the Hedgehog films, will direct the pilot episode and also serve as an executive producer. Other executive producers include Neal H.
